CPKC acquired 8 GE ET44ACs in November 2024. Originally built as GECX Demonstrators, they were modified for Baffinland Iron Mines, which never took delivery due to mining delays and were reverted to Wabtec in 2023. CPKC had them refitted at Wabtec's Albia, Iowa, facility, stripping arctic mods, repainting them into CPKC colors, and re-numbering them as CP 7430-7437.
